Town Centre Panel

Residents who sit on the Neighbourhood Panel represent the area in which they live, and bring the concerns and issues of their local neighbourhood to the Panel meetings. If you feel you could represent your local area and would like to be considered as a resident panel member, please send us your details.; You may also use this contact point to request more information.

Outside agencies are invited to attend Panel Meetings where appropriate on an ad hoc basis, to address specific issues raised by the Panel.

Only a resident may chair the Neighbourhood Panel.

Both residents and businesses are represented on the Panel. The Local Action Teams that existed before the Panel was created continue to operate separately and are represented on the Panel.

The Police are represented by two or more of the Neighbourhood Specialist Team, which consists a Sergeant, two PCs and four PCSOs.

As the Panel covers three wards it is usual for the Ward Councillors attending the meeting to pick up issues which relate to any of these wards and refer them to another Ward Councillor in necessary.

The County Council is represented by the single Ward Councillor.

Some Council Officers attend on a regular basis to provide links to the day and night time economies.

Other agencies with an interest in Town Centre matters also attend regularly.

Other people will be invited to join the panel, as appropriate, to provide the resolution of specific issues.
